I fell in love with this gorgeous coffee table the moment I saw it and I waited all day at an auction just to be able to offer it to you! It is comprised of a square brass base which looks like a fireplace fender with brass spindles and turned knob detail on a plinth base which is topped by a thick wood edged frame with a glass insert. Outstanding! It is the perfect center of attention as a coffee table should be. Large enough to display an interesting centerpiece or object d’art, along with coffee table books galore, and still room for setting a cocktail or cup of coffee. It will work beautifully with a Hollywood Regency, Campaign, or Traditionally designed space. As well as in a formal living room or a more casual family room. You only need to make it yours.
NOTE: Since originally listing this table we have discovered it is attributed to Erwin Lambeth furniture company, a prestigious furniture company based in Thomasville, North Carolina. Erwin Lambeth, originally a family run business, was started in 1901 as Standard Chair Company. However, in 1947 upon the death of James Erwin Lambeth Snr., the name was changed to Erwin Lambeth and was run by James Erwin Lambeth Jr. and his wife, Katherine “KC” Lambeth. Their focus was producing high-end mid-century furnishings for the design trade only and KC’s influence as a woman, a designer, and the first President of the company was infused into every piece. In the 1980s Erwin Lambeth merged with Tomlinson Furniture, who are still creators of fine furniture today. Erwin Lambeth pieces are frequently compared to and mistaken for mid-century greats such as Milo Baughman, Pierre Cardin, and Selig.
