The glassworks in Kosta began in 1742! Yes. I said 1742! It became Kosta Boda in 1976 after first having been part of the Afors group, and in 1990 merged with Orrefors. Then becoming part of The Royal Scandinavian Group in 1997. Many renowned glass artists have passed through its doors through the years including Sven X-et Ericsson, Ewald Dahlskog, Tyra Lundgren, Vicke Lindstrand, and, of course, Ulrica Hydman-Vallien and her husband, Bertil Vallien. Plus many, many other fabulous artists. For hundreds of years Kosta, Boda, and Afors glassworks have created fine glasswares both utilitarian and decorative. No end is in sight.
