Yes! I said squircle! It is indeed a term for a square with rounded corners that make it almost a circle. But, with the addition of its two leaves, this table does become an oval. The leaves, however, do not have a skirt as does the table proper. In addition to having such a strange shape name this table is a puzzle. It has no markings except a number, it came with chairs marked Hibriten and a Honduran rosewood buffet credenza by Jack Cartright for Founders Furniture, and an extensive search online has not garnered any information. But…..it is gorgeous! The rosewood is stunning and the shape so unique. I know you need this fabulous mid-century modern rosewood table in your life and home!

Handsome expanding mid-century modern rosewood dining table. Starts out with no leaves as a squircle and with the addition of one or two leaves becomes an oval. In wonderful vintage condition with the normal small nicks and dings for its circa 1960s age.
