Description

Wow! Just look at this fabulous arctic blue Fionia centerpiece bowl produced by Holmegaard and designed by Per Lutken. This piece is signed and dated 1957 with the PL initials. It is in great vintage condition with no chips, cracks or chiggers. It does, however, have a few bottom scratches but does not distract from its amazing beauty. It is just gorgeous with its clear icy arctic blue color and mid-century biomorphic flowing tricorn or trilobed shape.

Per Lutken began his career with Holmegaard in 1942 and remained there until his death in 1998. Many of his more than 3000 designs have become classics. He was known for being a perfectionist and for telling the glass blowers who might complain about his designs being too difficult, “Well, who said things were supposed to be easy?”

This is one of those difficult but extraordinary designs. Make this one yours.
