What a gorgeous pair of mid-century cloisonné vases! Their background color is a pure snow white with the cloud style cloisonné design and the beautiful mirrored motif depicts peonies, chrysanthemums, plum blossoms, and butterflies in colors of orchid, yellow, red, green, and blue. Cloisonné, in a simplistic description, is a technique of creating designs on a metal vessel, originally with colored glass paste and later with enamel which is placed within enclosures made of copper or bronze wires, which have been bent or hammered into the desired pattern. This is an ancient craft. I know these vases with their lovely example of cloisonné will be spectacular wherever you decide to use them. Make them yours.
