ABOUT
Do you hear that whistle down the line? All aboard! All aboard! On the Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe….oh! Hello!!! These chairs! They are sooooo darn awesome they have me being silly. I cannot believe how wonderful and pristine this set of 4 chairs originally from a railroad dining car are. FYI we are based in Topeka, Kansas where one of the biggest Santa Fe railroad car shops is located and we believe these came directly from their upholstery shop. They used to do, and maybe still do, all the upholstery for their passenger trains. These are wearing new old stock fabric with a most delightful modern, almost Aztec, orange and black abstract upholstery. You can’t get much better than that. The stainless-steel frame has skid or sled like legs and the chair back has an almost rolled back where it attaches to the frame. They are pretty heavy, as most railroad use chairs were, to keep them from slipping and sliding around the car. This incredible set of four will be the topic of conversation wherever they are used whether in your dining room, breakfast room, or around a game table. I could not decide what style I should call them: Art Deco or Streamline Modern; Industrial or mid-century modern; Bauhaus or Art Moderne. So, you decide and then just call them yours! You know you love them.
