This fabulous table lamp by Bill Curry is an absolute treasure from the 1960s mid-century modern era. This one with its chrome base and clear bulb is stunning whether on or off. The series it is from Pick-Up denotes how its unique switch works. When picked-up the light goes off. When setting down it is on. Enjoy it anywhere you heart desires, be it a table, cabinet, shelf, or bookcase. It is in wonderful condition and will make a perfect addition to your home.
William Bill Billy Curry (1927-1971) graduated from the Los Angeles Art Center and began working at Ramo-Wooldridge Corporation, later TRW Inc., as Art Director. In 1962 he founded Design Line, Inc. a home furnishings company in El Segundo, California. His lights were deemed “best lamps of the year” by Industrial Design magazine, showcased at the Pasadena Art Museum, and selected by the U. S.
