Beautiful Czech hourglass art glass vase by Shafaq Malik Ahmed for the Czechoslovakian division of Barovier & Toso. In cobalt blue with green spirals. It is signed and in fabulous vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or chiggers that we have detected. Circa 1995-2003.

Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous. And sensual. These fabulous large hourglass shaped vases were designed by Shafaq (Malik) Ahmed for the Czech division of Barovier and Toso circa late 20^th to early 21^st century. It is in perfect condition and signed. The cobalt blue vase has a green spiral imbedded design and is signed S. Malik.

Shafaq (Malik) Ahmed was born in Pakistan but now resides in the United States by way of the UK, Iran, and Denmark. She studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and received her Master of Fine Art degree from Texas Christian University. Shafaq worked as an art glass designer for Barovier and Toso Czech Republic from 1995 to 2003. And collaborated with other Czech and Swedish art glass studios. She is now dedicated to multimedia art including onsite installations. Her work is in private and public collections worldwide.
