This is one of those pieces I have long admired and when this one came our way; I knew I had to have it for you. This two-drawer low chest is comprised of a particulate wood constructed box and drawer that are clad in brass and adorned with brass nail studs and large heavy metal loop handles. It rests on four wood bun feet. And was hand made in Spain circa 1970s for Sarreid Ltd. retaining their original tag inside the top drawer. This chest will make the perfect end table or lamp table in your living room, family room, great room, sitting room, or study. Although Hollywood Regency or Campaign style it will go splendidly with your mid-century modern décor, industrial loft, modern country home, or mountain ranch. It is a handsome versatile piece.
In 1967 Spain Sarreid Ltd was begun by Alexander Sarratt III and Walter Reid. It was and is based in Wilson, North Carolina. It was one of the first American companies to use sources overseas to procure and produce fine furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, and other home decor items. Sarratt and Reid moved to Spain to do this. They commenced their quest for decorative home accents with Old World flavor with their mission in mind to provide beautiful and distinctive home furnishings to the design trade and high-end furniture and department stores. Over the years it expanded its reach to include craftsmen and artisans not only from Spain but from Italy, Portugal, Korea, Mexico, India, the Philippines, Thailand, China, and Vietnam.
I know you will love this brass chest of drawers as much a I. Just make it yours!
