Description

As their saying goes… “For every personality, there’s a Howard Miller clock!” And BOY, does this spectacular chrome and espresso grandfather clock have TONS of personality to share! It is model #611-216 and it was discontinued by the manufacturer on April 12th, 2021. It is comprised of an espresso finish hardwood veneer, a polished stainless steel chrome door frame, and a chrome wrap-around base. Inside the clock features a gloss white round dial with raised black hour markers featuring a minute track and hands. Under the dial, decorative chrome circled starburst holds three polished chrome weighted cylindrical shells and a gorgeous chrome-finished grid circle pendulum sways below. The interior case illuminates with an energy efficient LED lamp dimmable to three settings, a stunning full mirrored back, and beautiful, beveled glass on the door front, sides, and side access panel. AND the Piece De Resistance…. Is a high-precision, cable driven, Westminster chime that plays ¼, ½, and ¾ with full chime and strike upon the hour!! It has adjustable levers under each corner to provide stability and a nickel-finished capsule with an heirloom record certificate is included inside the case. This grandfather clock is simply phenomenal with its charming melodies and captivating chimes, it is sure to be a focal point in any room of your home!! It is a fabulous, functioning timepiece, with an elegance only Howard Miller can create.

Howard Miller was founded in 1926 and is still family owned in it’s third generation. Starting in 1947, the Howard Miller Clock Company produced scores of modern wall clocks and table clocks designed by George Nelson Associates. At that time, Nelson was Director of Design at Herman Miller Furniture Company. They also produced Nelson’s “Bubble Lighting” through the late 1970s, eventually selling the business in the early 1980s. Howard Miller Clock Company also produced other Nelson Associates products; spice cabinets, pull-down wall mounted vanities and desks, a vertical hanging vinyl strip system called “Ribbon Wall”, a complete line of fireplace tools, and other hanging lighting. One of the last series of modern clocks were the “Swing Timers”, a group of at least 18 inexpensive all plastic clocks produced in the late 1960s & designed by Arthur Umanoff Associates. Umanoff also designed Plexiglas floor and wall clocks, a series of wood clocks called “Natural Classics”, and “Day Timers” which were plastic wall clocks with day and dates. Nathan George Horwitt designed the “Museum Clock” in the 1970’s. The final George Nelson Associates series of clocks were the 1984 post-modern “Tempo ’21 Series”. Grandfather clocks did not become a part of the product line until the 1960’s and they have since acquired Ridgeway, Heckman and Woodmark companies. Today, they are the world’s leading clock company and a respected brand name in fine specialty furnishings such as curio cabinets, wine & bar furnishings, custom storage cabinets, and SmartMoves adjustable height desks.

Don’t let this timeless heirloom by an iconic manufacturer pass you by… You simply MUST make it yours!!
