Mid Century Modern Two Drawer Lateral File Cabinet in Walnut by Hardwood House Inc.

$1,995

SKU 414-CSG-069 Category Tags , ,

Handsome mid-century modern two drawer lateral file cabinet in walnut by Hardwood House Inc. of Rochester, New York. It is very reminiscent of cabinets by both George Nelson and Jens Risom. It is in fabulous vintage condition overall. The top drawer in certain light is somewhat lighter in color than the rest of the cabinet and there is a repair to the veneer on the lower right back corner; but neither of these detract from its fabulous look.  Please see photos. Circa 1960s. NOTE: Securing this piece to the wall is advised. It can be top heavy if improperly loaded and opened.

Description

If you are looking for attractive file storage…..look no further! This is one of the most beautiful yet simple pieces I have ever seen. And, its coming from our private collection. This gorgeous walnut lateral two drawer file cabinet was made by Hardwood House Inc. of Rochester, New York; but looks so much like pieces designed by Jens Risom or George Nelson. The black metal pulls are almost identical to those on Nelson’s Thin Line Series while the square wood legs are totally Risom. Originally made as a file cabinet but would be a great liquor cabinet, chest of drawers, night stand, or credenza. I can imagine this in an awesome mid-century modern home or, an industrial loft and everything in between. You need to make it yours.
