Description

This sculpture by Manuel Felguerez just makes me smile! The sculpture, depicting a boy and girl on a see saw, or teeter totter as we called them when I was a kid, is comprised of metal, paper mache, and wood. The clothes of the children are created by placing paper mache over the metal body. There is a spring and a lever attached to the sculpture which allows you to make the see saw…..see and saw! So endearing. The sculpture is signed and mounted on a wood base indicative of the vintage sculptures and not the current reproductions which are mounted on metal bases.  Manuel Felguerez Barra (born 12/12/1928) is a prominent abstract artist of Mexico who did most of his studies in France. The Manuel Felguerez Abstract Art Museum was opened in 1998 in the city of Zacatecas. This whimsical and happy sculpture should be yours.
