Design Institute of America a.k.a. DIA was founded in Indiana in 1972. DIA was a design-driven producer of steel furniture for wall units, occasional and dining furniture including tables and chairs, and curios at moderately high price points with an edgy, contemporary flair. Blending metal, chrome, and glass was their staple. Over the years DIA had manufactured the ideas of Rick Berry, Vladimir Kagan, John Mascheroni, and Michael Wold into their pieces. Such ideas as using transparent glass or not and several different metal finishes including electroplating, and acid dipping processes rather than powder coating. And contrary to internet beliefs, Milo Baughman never designed for DIA. Global economic pressures, overseas competitions, and increasing costs caused the company to cease in 2005.
This all-glass lighted display cabinet by DIA is just too gorgeous to let pass you by! Don’t wait… make it yours!!
