The chrome connector has heat venting holes and chrome screws that hold the large mushroom glass bulbs in place so it’s a lovely decorative detail, with a purpose! Carlo Nason was born in 1935 in Murano, Italy and his family is one of the island of Murano’s oldest glass blowing families. They involved him in their glassblowing process when he was very young. He is well known for his impeccable design skill and use of historical techniques in producing inventive lighting fixtures, sculptures, lamps, & vases. He continues to live and work in Murano, Italy. His works can be viewed in the collections at The Museum of Modern Art in New York and The Corning Museum of Glass.
