Description

If she is not your grandmother then just pretend because she is too beautiful NOT to hang on your wall!! Seriously, this does not have to be a family member for it to grace your home. We are not sure of the origins of this fabulous pastel on canvas unsigned portrait. She is done in the Gibson Girl style with her lovely pompadour hairdo, but she could be a bit earlier more Victorian. Her seated rather lounging position and flowing gown make it feel more Victorian. The large size, almost life-size actually, and the more rustic triple layered, and scalloped frame make us suspicious that she may have been done as a backdrop for a Vaudeville show or a play in an opera house. Or maybe even part of the Ziegfeld Follies!!! No matter her origins you can make her your instant ancestor. Her grace and beauty abound. Make her yours!
