Description

What an ingenious design this is!! So beautiful and functional. Leave it to Scandinavian Modern design and Kai Kristiansen to come up with this intriguing and well-made set. A trio of square nesting tables that when nested create a single cube side table and when apart can be used as three separate side tables or grouped together in a line to form an interesting coffee or cocktail table. This set is made of warm and wonderful teak and in excellent condition. Plus, its quality of construction is superb as with all of Kai Kristiansen’s designs.

Kai Kristiansen is a Danish furniture designer who was born in Denmark in 1929. Kristiansen originally trained as a cabinetmaker, as did so many of the great Scandinavian furniture designers. He then continued his education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen under famed architect and furniture designer Kaare Klint. In 1955 he opened his own office in Copenhagen. His designs are considered some of the finest mid-century Scandinavian designs created and rarer than most due to their complicated construction because of the high standards of their design. In 2016 Kristiansen launched along with Great Dane Furniture, a reissue of a few of his designs. At 90 years of age he continues to actively collaborate with designers and manufacturers.

This is one incredible side table / tables to add to your collection. Make the set yours!!
