This is an incredible rattan wicker chaise made by Bielecky Brothers, Inc. of New York. Bielecky Brothers is considered one of the top makers of high-quality wicker, rattan, and cane furnishings. This chaise is comprised of a rattan wicker frame. Wicker is a process not a material and at Bielecky all wicker is woven of reed. The reed is thin poles of rattan extracted from a solid section of vine and since this reed is entirely made from the core of the plant, it is porous, absorbing stain readily and evenly. This chaise has been professionally recovered in a simple but beautiful off-white canvas.
Bielecky Brothers, Inc. has been a top provider of high-end rattan, cane and wicker furniture in American since 1903. Founded when Andrew and Conrad Bielecky emigrated from Poland to New York and set up a small shop weaving wicker chairs. Even when, around 1930s-1940s, wicker fell out of style for home interiors Bielecky survived because of their high quality in production and finishing. Every Bielecky Brothers’ piece is custom-made and handcrafted and to this day are produced in the same way they were when the firm was first established. They have provided their products to Presidents, John F. Kennedy; Vice Presidents, Kick Cheney; musicians, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bette Midler, Liza Minelli, Luciano Pavarotti, and Clive Davis; stars, Mary Tyler Moore, and Candace Bergen; and famous Americans, The Rockefellers, and Michael Bloomberg. They are a fourth-generation family-owned and operated business still thriving today.
This chaise is obviously meticulously handcrafted and finished to the exceptional standards for which Bielecky is famous. You must make it yours!
